Tell a raw egg from a cooked egg ~ Lightly twirl the egg on a smooth, flat surface. A hard-boiled egg will easily spin; a raw egg will wobble. (Note: If you spin them hard enough, both eggs will spin rather easily and quickly. The trick is to give them just a gentle nudge. Done properly, the raw egg will wobble.) That's all there is to it!

Ingredients for Mai Tai
1 Measure / 1.5 tbsp Light Rum
1 Measure / 1.5 tbsp Dark Rum
1 Measure / 1.5 tbsp Triple Sec
1 Measure / 1.5 tbsp Orange Almond Syrup
1 Measure / 1.5 tbsp Grenadine
Juice of 1/2 Lime
3 measures / 4.5 tbsp Orange Juice
3 measures / 4.5 tbsp Pineapple Juice

When I was attending the university, I had lots of german fellow students and so many nice german friends. One of my roomies was also from Germany. We used to cook and dine together and by the time I came out of school, I realised that I had developed a taste for german breads and cakes. Blackforest cake has always been my favourite anyways. Here is a simple and traditional recipe of the German Blackforest cake.

1/2 pound quality semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
Shaved chocolate pieces
1/3 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons quality honey (recommended: Tasmanian)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/4 to 1/2 cup turbinado sugar or raw sugar, for garnish
